BARBIER HARVEYSimon J. Barbier Jr., 77, a native of Boutte and a resident ofHarvey for 70 years, died July 21. He was the husband of Josephine RussoBarbier and father of Mary and Michael Barbier.

He was also the son of the late Simon Sr. and Emily Bourg Barbier andbrother of Pearl Thibodeaux and William Barbier.

He is also survived by one grandchild.

Services were held July 23 at Infant Jesus of Prague Catholic Church, Harvey, with interment at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery, Westwego.

CLARK PONCHATOULAMarshall James Clark, 84, a native of New Sarpy and a resident of Ponchatoula, died July 19. He was the husband of Hazel ShawClark and father of Jennifer Speicher and Robert Clark.

He was also the son of the late Robert and Ada Anderson Clark and brother of the late Rebecca Lehmann.

Services were held July 21 at First Presbyterian Church of Ponchatoula, with interment at Ponchatoula Cemetery.

DUHE METAIRIEJennie L. Duhe, 83, a native of Montz and a resident of LaPlaceand Kenner for most of her life, died July 20. She was the mother of JoanMullens and W.J. “Bill” Duhe.She was also the sister of Mary Dufilho and was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.

She is also survived by six grandchilden and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of the Court of St.

Joan of Arc and a beautician for 50 years.

Services were held July 23 in the chapel of Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

KING GULFPORT, Miss.Alice “Gerry” Amos King, 67, a native of St. Paul, Va.,and a resident of Gulfport, Miss., died July 16. She was the wife of MorrisKing and mother of H.W. and Todd Amos.She was also the daughter of the late Magdeline Camper and Ed Cheeks.

She is also survived by one grandchild.

She was retired from River Parishes Medical Center in LaPlace.

Services were held July 23 in the chapel of Riemann Funeral Home, Gulfport, with interment at Finley Cemetery, Harrison County, Miss.

LAWSON KENNERDave “Skip” Lawson Jr., 47, a native of Kenner and a resident ofSt. Rose for 18 years, died July 17. He was the husband of Brenda U.Lawson and father of Tiffany and Thomas Lawson.

He was also the son of Evelyn Lawson and the late Dave Lawson Sr. andbrother of Darlene Reynaud.

Services were held July 22 at Pilgrim Baptist Church, Kenner, with interment at Love and Charity Cemetery.

MONTEGUT LAFAYETTEMarjorie “Peggy” Montegut, a native of Reserve and a resident of Lafayette, died July 19. She was the wife of 52 years ofretired Marine Col. Alfonse Sutton and mother of Marjorie Barry, LaurieHienz, Jan Sutton and Leilia Peyronnin.

She was also the daughter of the late Joseph O. and Marjorie HenryMontegut and sister of the late John and Criswell Montegut. JosephMontegut was a former superintendent for St. John the Baptist PublicSchools.

She is also survived by three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were held July 22 in the chapel of Delhomme Funeral Home, Lafayette, with interment at Holy Mary Mother of God Mausoleum.

PANZECA NEW ORLEANSJohn Panzeca, 93, a native of St. James, and resident ofNew Orleans, died July 21. He was the husband of Irma Wilson Panzeca andfather of Angela Hagen, Wilma Pretus, Salvatore and John “Jack” Robert Panzeca and the late George Panzeca.

He was also the son of the late Angela Rini Panzeca and George Panzeca and the brother of the late Phillipa Cusimano, Josephine Ortalano, Giavana Mariano, Mary Pervel, Salvadora Nordstrum and Frank Panzeca.

He is alos survived by 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services are today at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, New Orleans with internment at St. Vincent De Paul Cemetery No. 2. Visitation beginsat 10 a.m.

PRIMA ST. ROSEBasile Prime, 73, native of St. Rose and resident of Destrehan,died July 21. He was the husband of the late Hilda Champagne Prima andthe father of Russell and Victor Prima and Elizabeth P. Ryan.He was the son of the late Elizabeth Canatella and Rosalino Prima and brother of the late Victor Prima and Mary P. Gilardi.He is also survived by five grandchildren.

Services are today the Kenner Funeral Home of L.A. Muhleisen & Son,Kenner with internment in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery.

WARD GONZALES Lillian C. “Pattie” Ward, 55, a native of Lutcher and a residentof Gonzales, died July 17. She was the mother of Cynthia Geismar,Nechelle Smith, Huey, Troy, Paul, Michael and Jerry Gayden and Carrie and Cecric Ward.

She was also the sister of Luvenia Allen, Audrey Celestine, Betty Smith, Rose Williams, Joyce Bradley and Robert, the Rev. James and HenryCelestine Jr.

She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were held July 22 at Do Right Baptist Church, Gonzales, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Brittany.
