Odyssey House of Louisiana is reminding us that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. The organization is holding a Hidden TreasuresRummage Sale on Saturday, June 26, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Zephyr Field inMetairie.

Bring all those treasures to Zephyr Field on Airline Highway any evening June 21-25 from 5-7 p.m. Look for the big UPS truck by the Stormpractice field to drop off your loot.

Come back on Saturday to hunt for new treasures, some refreshment and to purchase tickets for Odyssey Night at Zephyr Field on July 8.

Part of the proceeds will go directly to Odyssey House.

The Aquarium of the Americas is asking all of you to help name its new mascot, a cute and furry sea otter from Monterey, California, who has arrived a little before two real-life Southern Sea Otters make their appearance at the aquarium in July.

He’s been making the rounds…touring the French Quarter, sampling thelocal cuisines, and trying to get the hang of life in the Big Easy.

This newcomer has decided he needs a real New Orleans-sounding name to fit in. So far, the mascot has come up with these ideas, but is open to anywrite-in suggestions: Jacques, Iko, Beaux, Louis, Andre, Edgar, Prima, Alphonse, Antoine and Pierre.

Anyone can enter the contest to come up with a name for the sea otter.

Contest entry forms can be found at the information booth at Aquarium of the Americas and Audubon Zoo, Gambit Weekly, or on-line at www.bestofneworleans.com.The winner will receive a cache of prizes including two round-trip tickets on Southwest Airlines to California, a one-year Aquarium of the Americas membership and other “otter” gifts. The contest ends June 28. Thewinner will be announced on July 2.
