Summer is finally here. It’s the time of the year that almost everyone waits for. How has your summer been? Are you still having fun, or are you already bored? Well, here are some ideas that you might be able to use.

Get a job. Yes, it may not be fun, but you can pull in a couple of extra dollars and probably learn a lot, too. If you’re not old enough to work, you could cut grass for your neighbors.

Go to a camp. Try to find a camp that focuses on your favorite activity. Try to hang out with your cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. Get to know them better. Ask your grandparents to tell you about life when they were young.

Get involved with your church youth group, and make a strong commitment to serve God.

Read.

Help your mom and dad (to spend their paychecks at the mall! Just kidding!).

Cut the grass, but never cut the grass with an old lawnmower that is supposedly fixed.

Watch a baseball game with your dad.

Have fun at home watching television, playing the computer and playing with your siblings.

If you have any good ideas about what to do this summer, send them to me at straightkids@juno.com or P.O. Box 1493, LaPlace, La. 70068.
