Dance Unlimited performances slated for next two weekends

LAPLACE – Dance Unlimited of the River Parishes will hold its 25th anniversary performances during the next two weekends. On May 30, the LaPlace Studio willhold its performance starting at 5 p.m. sharp. On June 6, there will be twoshows by Dance Unlimited. The Luling studio’s performance starts at noon and isfollowed by the Destrehan studio’s performance at 5:30 p.m. All shows are heldat the Pontchartrain Centre in Kenner.

In 1974, Duanne Cormier Cazalot opened the doors to her first dance studio in Norco. Now, 25 years later, Dance Unlimited is one of the largest, mostsuccessful studios in Louisiana with three locations and over 1,000 students.

This year, 35 dancers will receive their 10-year certificates.

From the LaPlace studio Bridgette Boe, Stephani Bordelon, Courtney Bourgeois, Jessie LaBranch, Brandy Matulich, Sharonda Rodriguez, Christa Schexnayder and Jessica Taormina will graduate.

Alison Amedee, Amber Barlow, Destanie Brown, Jessica Burke, Kristi Casanova, Brandy Duhon, Jessica Haik, Nichole Maher, Amy Nicholas, Brittney Robert, Chante’ Robertson, Sarah Sassin, Donna Weber and Kassi Guillot will receive diplomas from the Luling studio.

The Destrehan studio will graduate Aquina Brown, Sarah Castille, Ashlynn Dufour, Ashley Green, Amanda Guidry, Shelley Hennig, Raeanna Poplus, Lauren Waguespack, Kerrie Walsh, Ashley Williams, Kimberly Woodbum, Jessie Landry and Kathleen Stanley.

This years show will carry the theme, “All That Glitters…Isn’t Gold DanceUnlimited’s Silver Anniversary” and is packed full of past favorites and many new, high score winning routines.

“The past 25 years have been incredible,” Cazalot said. “I am very fortunate tohave such a wonderful staff working with me. Without them, none of this wouldbe possible. “Staff members are Samantha Cazalot Sidwell, Laurie Falgoust, Kim Radetich, Julie Foret, Keri Bourg, Shannie Cazalot, Angie Lehrmann, Michelle Boudreaux and Al Cazalot.

“But, most of all, I need to thank my fantastic students and their parents for always giving me that little extra to make every performance the best yet,” Cazalot said.

Dance Unlimited’s performances are free of charge, however, an invitation is required to attend. Anyone interested in attending should call Duanne at 764-0625 or for more information on the upcoming summer classes and fall registration.
