DEAR EDITOR: I would like to let St. Charles Parish know how proud they should be of theDestrehan High School band. Recently, my husband and I helped tochaperone the band’s trip to San Antonio, Texas. The band enjoyed theRiverwalk, Market Square and Fiesta Texas. They played with Highland HighSchool band in a clinic and socialized with them afterwards. The studentswere very good with just a few minor happenings. I think we should allapplaud them for their outstanding behavior.

I would also like to thank Thomas Raphael for his hard work in putting the trip together. Because of Mr. Raphael’s organization, the trip ran verysmoothly. Not many people think of all the work that needs to be done tomake such a trip successful.
