Student drama production next week at DHS

DESTREHAN – The Destrehan High School Drama Department is presenting Reginald Rose’s “12 Angry Jurors” Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m.and Sunday at 2 p.m. in the DHS auditorium. The play will be directed byDanon Dastugue, talented drama teacher.

Audience members will have the opportunity to see this courtroom drama up close and personal with seating in-the-round on the auditorium stage surrounding the actors. Limited seating is available for each show.Rose’s classic script is set in a cramped deliberation room on a hot summer day in New York City. Twelve jurors must decide on the fate of a19-year-old boy who allegedly stabbed his father to death.

The tension begins almost immediately as 11 of the jurors who are prepared to convict the young man discover that the 12th juror believes in his innocence.

During their deliberation jurors must not only decide the fate of the accused killer but also come to grips with discoveries about their own characters.

“12 Angry Jurors” stars Michael Guidry, Jessica LeBlanc, Lindsay Stohlman, Jessica Pierce, Christina Kruse, Samuel Ebeyer, Cory Faucheux, Erik Schmaltz, Matt Bryan, Ashley Bergeron, Rodrigo Ribeiro, Linsey Stewart, Jessica Trahan and Jordan Goynes.

Natalie Becker is assistant director. Other members of the crew are AaronO’Quinn, stage manager; Cindy Schneider, box office; Danielle DeMarco, costumes; Ashley Bergeron, makeup; Shendrelle Tregre, house manager; and Jonathan Saunders, lighting.
