ASKIN LAPLACE Daniel Lee Askin, 65, a native of Plaquemine and a resident of Reserve, died March 21. He was the husband of Gladys Collin Askin andfather of Gerald Williams, Earl Smith, Ernest Davis, Anita James, Viola Davis, Valeria Bolden, Sheldon Davis, Pamela Perrilloux, Michael Davis, Annette Askin and the late Daniell Askin and Sheila Linton.

He was the son of the late Willie and Viola Askin and the brother of Dorothy Bright, Irma Lee and Lillie Mae Mitchell. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and was preceded in death by by one great-grandchild.

Services were Saturday at 11 a.m. at Church of God in Christ, LaPlace,with interment at Zion Travelers Cemetery.

BAKER RESERVE Clifford G. Baker Jr., 65, a native of Gramercy and a resident ofReserve for 35 years, died March 22. He was the husband of ShirleySanders Baker and father of the late Chad Baker.

He was also the son of the Rev. Clifford Sr. and the late Pearl Jones Baker.He spent 20 years as a teacher and 12 years as a principal in the St. JamesParish School System. He served as District 8 representative on the stateBoard of Elementary and Secondary Education for the past seven years, where he was the board’s vice-president for three years and chairman of the board’s School and Community Support Committee.

Services were Saturday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church,Reserve, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.BOOTH LULING George Robert Booth Sr., 85, a native of Lawson, Ark., and aresident of Luling for 45 years, died March 24. He was the husband of RuthNunnally Booth and father of Candace Binder and George Booth Jr.

He was also the son of the late Willie and Ora Jane Braswell Booth and brother of Mary Krepper and the late Murphy Booth.

He is also survived by one grandchild.

Services were Saturday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Luling, withinterment at Crucifixion Mausoleum of St. Charles Cemetery, Luling. GREGERSEN NORCO Albert Franklin Gregersen, 73, a native of Pearl, Mich., and aresident of Norco for 48 years, died March 22. He was the husband of JoyWeber Gregersen and father of Laurie LeGaux, Jodi Neal and Chris and Michael Gregersen.

He was also the brother of Florence Lauritzen and Edna, Louie, Everette and Ray Gregersen.

He is also survived by two grandchildren.

Services were Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of H.C. Alexander FuneralHome, Norco, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum,Destrehan.

LEWIS NORCO Jeffrey C. Lewis, 45, a native of Norco and a resident of St. Roseand Kenner for 27 years, died March 22. He was the son of Pearl MireHarkins and the late Donald Lewis Sr. and brother of Donald Jr. and BarryLewis.

He was also the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lewis Sr. and thelate Mr. and Mrs. Eugene J. Mire Sr.Services were held March 25 at First Baptist Church of Norco, with interment at St. Charles Mausoleum, Destrehan.SMITH METAIRIE Richard Downs Smith, 59, a native of Phoenix City, Ala., and aresident of St. Rose, died March 23. He was the husband of CarolynBodenheimer Smith and father of Peggy Bromen, Robin Stortz and the late Hayward Alexander Smith.

He was also the brother of the late Joann Rytucki.

He is also survived by five grandchildren.

Services were held March 26 in the chapel of Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, Metairie, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, St.

Rose.

WEBER ST. JAMES Robert Louis Weber Sr., 74, a native of Vacherie and aresident of New Orleans for many years, died March 23. He was the formerhusband of Rosemary C. Weber and father of Melinda Johnson, SharonBelyeu, Dianne George and Michael, Gerard and Robert Weber Jr.

He was also the son of the late Mulligan and Blanche Weber and brother of Hazel Brown, Peter Weber and the late John, Sidney, Ralph and Matthew Weber and Eva Mae Oubre.

He is also survived by 14 grandchildren.

Services were Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, St.James, with interment at the church cemetery.
