DEAR EDITOR: We were very fortunate no one was seriously hurt when a tornado hit a section of Norco. Almost immediately after it hit, the streets were filledwith people who were either affected or neighbors who wanted to help.

Norco has a history of being a close-knit town and an event such as this one proved that history to be correct.

The response of our citizens, sheriff’s department, public works department, Entergy, Cox Communications and the Red Cross was timely, efficient, professional and without delay.

The large monetary donation by Shell/Motiva to the Red Cross and their volunteering to do anything they can is another example of the closeness of our community.

On behalf of the Norco Civic Association, we would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation and thanks.

Norco is truly a good place to live and work.

Sal Digirolamo, president Norco Civic Association
