HARRISON RESERVE – Benjamin James “Uncle Ben” Harrison, 74, a native of Norco, former resident of Oakland, Calif. and resident of Norco, died Jan. 24. Hewas the son of the late Lee and Clara Jenkins Harrison and brother of Louise Smith.

Services were held Jan. 28 in the chapel of Robottom Mortuary, Reserve,with interment at Montz Memorial Cemetery.

HYMEL CONVENT – Ernest L. “Toot” Hymel, 90, a native and resident of Convent,died Jan. 26. He was the son of the late Clerville and Athenaise GaudinHymel and brother of the late Noelie Ayers, Corrine Poche and Dupre, Leo and Louis Hymel.

Services were held Jan. 27 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Convent, withinterment at the church cemetery.

PHILIP VACHERIE – Dory R. Philip, 69, a native and resident of Vacherie, died Jan.27. She was the wife of Joseph E. Philip and by first marriage of Eddie J.Armant and mother of Phyllis Clay, Marie Growe, Hazel Scott, Veronica Zenon, Ella and Lana Philip and Sidell and Lawrence Armant.

She was also the sister of the late Hansel Roussell.

She is also survived by a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church,Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 8a.m.POIRIER HARVEY – Ulrich Raymond Poirier, 91, a native of St. James and a residentof Harvey, died Jan. 28. He was the husband of the late Gertrude MartinezPoirier and father of Lois Dubrieul, Betty Thiery and Richard Poirier.

He was also the son of the late Felix and Eugenie Braud Poirier and brother of the late Raoul and Roger Poirier, Helen Roulette, Carmen Dugas, Olga Carlos and Aline Plaisance.

He is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and preceded in death by one grandchild.

Services are today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, Harvey,with interment at Westlawn Memorial Park. Visitation starts at noon.ST. PIERRE PAULINA – Cal J. St. Pierre, 92, a native and resident of Grand Point, diedJan. 28. He was the son of the late Philogene and Ida Louque St. Pierre andbrother of the late Lucrese Brignac, Neila Louque and Sophie, Louis and Laury St. Pierre.Services were held Jan. 29 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, withinterment at the church mausoleum.

WEBER LAPLACE – Joan S. Weber, 40, a native and resident of Garyville, died Jan.22. She was the wife of Sony Weber Jr. and mother of Shelita Robertson,Shentell, Kristy, Donna Jean, Domonique, Tiranika, Donald and Ronald Weber.

She was also the daughter of Celestine and the late Marion Johnson Stevens, step-daughter of Linda Stevens, and sister of Ursula, Alisha and Myra Jean White and Celestine III, Corey, Darell and Bryan Stevens.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren.

Services are today at 11 a.m. at Church of God in Christ, LaPlace, withinterment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Reserve. Visitation starts at 10a.m.
