BOURGEOIS LAPLACE – Agnes V. Bourgeois, 94, a native and resident of Reserve, diedJan. 15. She was the wife of the late Emile Bourgeois.She was also the daughter of the late Aristide and Gustavie Vicknair and sister of Mae Roussel and the late Edgar, Henry and Clinton Vicknair.

Services were held Jan. 18 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home,LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

MILLER NORCO – Karen Miller, 40, a native of Eunice, former resident of Luling and a resident of Metairie, died Jan. 16. She was the former wife of AaronDonaldson and mother of Allen Donaldson.

She was also the daughter of Terry Miller and Nadeline Guillory and sister of Suzie Guillory and Lee and Sheri Miller.

Visitation starts today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the chapel of H.C.Alexander Funeral Home, Norco.

MITCHELL RESERVE – Dennis Mitchell, 22, a native of Reserve, died Jan. 14. He wasthe husband of Catrina Mitchell and father of Denisha and LaNeisha Mitchell.

He was also the son of Junius Sr. and Darlene M. Thomas and brother ofJunius Jr., Quiana, Rochelle and the late Ricky Thomas.Services were held Jan. 19 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Reserve, withinterment at Providence Resthaven Cemetery.

SHAUGHNESSY PONCHATOULA – Nell Brown York Shaughnessy, 80, a native of Sicily Island and a resident of Hammond, died Jan. 16. She was the wife of the lateFrancis Xavier Shaughnessy and mother of Jean Vaughn, Kathleen Spencer and Michael and Francis X. Shaughnessy Jr.She was also the daughter of the late Zeb and Henry Brown York and sister of the late Jean Batey and twin brother, Zeb York Jr.

She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services are Jan. 21 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Harry McKneely & SonFuneral Home, Ponchatoula, with interment at St. John MemorialMausoleum, LaPlace. Visitation starts today from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. andtomorrow at 8 a.m.

SMITH ST. JAMES – Jean Ursin Smith, 39, a native of Convent and a resident of St.James, died Jan. 12. She was the wife of Lawrence Smith Sr. and mother ofEmma Jean, Charles and Lawrence Smith Jr.

She was also the daughter of Margarete Ester Ursin and the late Charles Ursin Sr. and sister of Joann Breaux, Ann Bush, Jackie Howard and Stacy,Robert, Wayne and Charles Ursin Jr.

She is also survived by one grandchild.

Services were held Jan. 17 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, St. James, withinterment at the church cemetery.
