The sale, purchase and use of fireworks in St. John the Baptist Parish islegal for the first New Year’s celebration in more than 15 years, and Lt. Greg “Za” Maurin of the St. John Sheriff’s Office said deputies will bepatrolling the area to ensure fireworks are being used properly.
