You may have seen Cheryl Hartman walking along with Mr. Peanut at theKrewe of Lul parade the last couple of years. Along the parade route shecollects jars of peanut butter from paradegoers to replenish the supply at the St. Charles Social Concerns Food Bank.”Last Mardi Gras we collected 400 jars of peanut butter and $100 in cash,” Hartman says. “That’s enough to last us the whole year.”That’s good news for the 54-year-old Luling resident who refers to herself as the “food person” for the food bank.
