The majority of Americans enjoy watching television or going to see movies. Sowhat is the general plot of these shows? Usually, there is some sort of problem or obstacle, and by the end of the show the characters find a way to resolve the problem or overcome the obstacle. But sometimes in life we find ourselvesoverwhelmed by our situations, and it seems impossible to find a way to escape.
What exactly is escape? Webster’s dictionary defines it as this: to break free from capture, confinement, restraint, etc.; to fade from the memory; to enjoytemporary freedom from unpleasant realities.
I believe there is someone who offers permanent freedom. This person is JesusChrist. He is always there for us even when we think there could be no solutionto our problems. I Corinthians 10:13 says, “God is faithful, He will not allow youto be tempted beyond what you are able, but with temptation, He will provide the way of escape also, that you may be able to endure it.” Even though ourproblems seem extremely big, it’s nothing that God cannot handle. It’s so good toknow that the Creator of the universe cares so much for us! He doesn’t allow us to go through trials to hurt us. He’s merely testing ourcharacter and our faith in Him. Someone told me yesterday that God doesn’t lookat our situations. He just looks at how we handle them. So, when it seems likethings can only get worse, know that God is still in control. Trust in Him,because He will always provide a way of escape.
