Hahnville man charged with kidnapping

HAHNVILLE – A 24-year-old man kidnapped his ex-girlfriend and their infant son Wednesday before releasing them unharmed, according to a spokesman for the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.Lt. Dwayne LaGrange reported that David Dee, 426 Smith St., arrived at theresidence of his 21-year-old ex-girlfriend on Smith Street and knocked on her window, then asked her to come outside.

When she did she saw he had a shotgun, and he ordered her to get their 1- month-old son and come back out with him. She did so, and he drove themto an unknown location, where they argued over visitation of the child.

LaGrange said Dee then drove them to his mother’s residence, also on Smith Street, where she began crying and he taped her mouth, neck, wrists and ankles with duct tape.

Some time later, after someone knocked on his door, he decided to release mother and son. She then reported the incident and he was quicklyarrrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping.

LaGrange said Dee is being held on a $100,000 bond set by 29th Judicial District Judge Emile St. Pierre.
