Faucheux, Gaubert relinquishing crowns

Michelle Faucheux, the 1997 St. Charles Parish Festival Queen, will relinquish hertitle Aug. 1 at Destrehan High School Auditorium. The 1998 St. Charles Parish FestivalQueen pageant is set for 7 p.m.Faucheux has spent the last year traveling over 4,000 miles to over 40 different festivals presenting the St. Charles area.Some of the highlights of her reign were presenting St. Charles Parish at the La SugarFestival in New Iberia and the Louisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals Queen of Queens Pageant. She was even interviewed by a Discovery Channel film crew at theBreaux Bridge Crawfish Festival.
Michelle is the 23-year-old daughter of Stephen and Mary Faucheux of St. Rose. She isemployed by Morrison Production, a film production company in New Orleans, where she is pursuing a career in the film industry. Volunteering for the Second HarvestersFood Bank and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival take up much of her time.
She also enjoys watching old movies, hiking and ice hockey.
Rami Gaubert, daughter of Theron and Cynthia Gaubert, is the St. Charles Parish TeenQueen. She is 17 years old and lives in Luling. She will be a senior at Hahnville HighSchool in the fall.
The pageant is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Red Church Council 3634 in conjunction with the St. Charles Parish School Board Community Education Program.The Senior Queen and her court will be awarded scholarships. Also, the Queen andMaids selected in the pageant will go on to compete in area festivals including the Louisiana Sugar Festival, the Louisiana Cattle Festival, the Louisiana Fur and Wildlife Festival, the Louisiana Cotton Festival and the Louisiana Rice Festival.
