Schexnayder will lead St. James Board

LUTCHER – The St. James Parish School Board elected a new president andre-elected the same vice president at Tuesday night’s meeting.

Board member George Nassar nominated J.B. Schexnayder for the newposition and Richard Reulet made a motion to accept the nomination,which Willis Octave gladly seconded.

Schexnayder won the election by acclamation on a 7-0 vote.

“J.B. Schexnayder has my support to continue to improve the St. JamesParish School System,” Octave said.

Reulet was nominated for vice president by Octave. A motion to accept thenomination was made by Schexnayder and seconded by Octave. It too,passed by acclamation 7-0.

Schexnayder, who replaced three-year president Kenneth Foret, said hehopes he will do a good job serving the St. James Parish School System.

“I would like to thank you, board, for giving me this opportunity to serveas president,” he said. “If I do half as good a job as you have done,” headded, referring to Foret, “I’ll be satisfied.”

Reulet echoed much of what Schexnayder said. “I’m glad to have thisopportunity, and I’ll keep working like I have been,” he said.
