Ferrygood was arrested at 128 W. 15th St., and Ron Johnson was arrested at 134 W. 2nd St.

“Deputies, with the aid of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, arrested them Thursday in Edgard,” Sgt. Dane Clement said. “One was arrested at his residence. No other suspects are being looked at, at this time,” Clement said.

The case began when Sheriff’s Office deputies responded at 8:39 p.m. Dec. 16 to the 2900 block of River Road in Edgard following an armed robbery call.

A 61-year-old female victim told deputies two men with a handgun robbed her while she was sitting in her parked van, Tregre said.

“The victim told deputies that when the two men approached the van, she blew the horn, flashed the lights and screamed for help,” Tregre said. “They broke the driver’s door window, pulled her from the van and demanded her wallet and medications.”

The victim reported her wallet, gas card, checkbook and other items stolen.Emergency medical technicians treated the victim on the scene, but she refused transportation for additional medical attention, according to Tregre.

“Through information received from concerned citizens and evidence from the crime scene, detectives identified Roland Lewis, 22, from Edgard as a suspect,” Tregre said.

“Lewis met with detectives and admitted to his involvement in the armed robbery. Detectives arrested Lewis Friday and booked him with armed robbery with a firearm.”

Tregre said there was physical evidence tying Lewis to the scene and thanked residents for calling in with tips to aid in the investigation.

Lewis, 22, remains in custody.

Ferrygood was booked with armed robbery with a firearm and violation of probation/parole. His bond has not been set.

Johnson was booked with armed robbery with a firearm. He remains in custody in lieu of a $65,000 bond.
