St. Charles School System wins 20 national communication awards
LULING — The National School Public Relations Association has announced St. Charles Parish Public Schools as the recipient of 20 awards in its 2024 Publications and Digital Media Excellence Contest.
Awards are given at three levels: Honorable Mention, Award of Merit, and Award of Excellence.
The school system won four Awards of Excellence (the highest award level) in the infographic category for the @Your Fingertips brochure, single video produced in-house category for the Students of the Year Premiere and Principal of the Year Spotlight videos, and single video produced with outside contract category for the Employee Recruitment video. Additionally, the district received the Award of Merit for the annual report, branding/image package (Place Your Bets on Excellence Teachers of the Year branding), calendar, newsletter (ABCs of SCPPS), special purpose publication (Teachers of the Year Ceremony Program), video series produced in-house (Digital Wellness), and single video produced in-house (Keys to Our Success Employees of the Year, Welcome Back, Teachers of the Year Highlights, Safety & Security, and Beginning-of-Year Recap)
categories.
“Open and honest communication and collaboration between school, home, and community build trust’ is one of the official beliefs of St. Charles Parish Public Schools,” commented Superintendent Dr. Ken Oertling. “The Public Information Department’s dedication to excellence promotes two-way communication with our stakeholders, and these awards recognize that dedication.”
Since 1935, the National School Public Relations Association has provided school communication training and services to school leaders throughout the United States, Canada, and the U.S. Department of Defense Dependents Schools worldwide. The association’s mission is to advance education through responsible communication.
