Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

A New Day is Dawning

A new day will dawn on us from above because our God is loving and merciful. He will give light to those who live in the dark and in death’s shadow. He will guide us into the way of peace, Luke 1: 78-79.
First day of summer is June 21,2023; our children are out of school for summer break. There are several locations of classes that are held this summer with breaks in between. Do your best in your classes that will catch you up for fall opening.
One thing we must recognize in St. John the Baptist Parish-Schools Matter! If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it does it make a sound? Most basic answer: No, because the definition of sound is ”something that you hear.”
No one’s there when the tree falls, so the tree doesn’t make a sound. This answer is valid as long as no details are observed technically, Common Dreams, 2013.
With all the changes in education on the federal, state, and local level, it is most imperative that our Transparency, Accountability, and Communication (TAC) be updated.
People are changing; to me it is not happening fast enough. The kind of change that is taking place in education when students are wondering why they aren’t informed about courses like English IV not being required, when questions are asked answers should be given, curriculum changes must be the same for the East and West Bank graduates – again, too many changes.
We need to take this time and look at all changes in our school system to be sure that  things are better in August. Remember, “Schools Matter”.
The next School Board meetings June 8 and June 22, 2023.
