Last week, Timothy Martinez of 41142 Cannon Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 51, pled guilty to Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor, Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile (2 counts), and Pornography Involving Juveniles. Martinez was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Leila Braswell, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors following an investigation revealing that Martinez was involved in a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old juvenile female.

On March 4, 2021, Ascension Parish Sheriff’s detectives initiated an investigation after learning that Timothy Martinez was involved in a consensual sexual relationship with a 14 year old juvenile female. During an interview of the juvenile, detectives learned that she had been engaged in a sexual relationship with Timothy Martinez for approximately a year. During a search of the juvenile’s computer tablet, detectives located messages through a Google Message App which indicated that the juvenile was in fact engaging in sexual contact with Martinez. Detectives located numerous nude photographs which had been exchanged between Martinez and the juvenile. Detectives contacted Martinez who agreed to meet with detectives. During an interview, Martinez immediately confessed to the exchange of sexually explicit messages along with some improper physical contact. Martinez was subsequently arrested ad booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.

Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charges, pursuant to the plea agreement with prosecutors, Martinez was sentenced to 20 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. Upon release from incarceration, Martinez must register and notify as a sex offender or child predator for life.
