Sam is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann Oubre Moody; three children, Michelle Moody Seymour, Samuel Gray Moody, Jr., and Stephanie Moody; one grandchild, Ethan Seymour; one brother, Thomas C. Moody, Jr. (Lorraine); and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas C. Moody; his mother, Pauline Acosta Moody; and his two sisters, Pamela Dufrene and Gina Oubre.

Sam served 8 years in the US Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a devoted policeman in St. John the Baptist Parish, retiring as a major after 33 years where he was a part of the Special Operations Response Team (SORT) and Certified Range Instructor.

Every year he looked forward to being with his Monadnock family where he was a Certified International Instructor.

A private celebration of life will be held by his family and closest friends.
