Swinging for Sulphur: Lady Rebels finish regular season, ready for playoffs

RESERVE — The Riverside Academy Lady Rebels completed their regular season on Wednesday, April 12 with a 7-2 win over Dutchtown. They finished 17-9 and won the District 10-1A championship with a perfect 6-0 record. The team will begin its playoff run next week. As the No. 2 seed in the Select Division IV bracket, the Lady Rebels have a first-round bye. The State Tournament will be held April 28-29 at Frasch Park in Sulphur.

Against Dutchtown, Anna Mistretta went two for four with two runs and Amber Palermo got the win in the circle. Ava Fernandez and Chloe St. Pierre hit home runs in the game.

On Tuesday, April 11, the team crushed Riverdale with a 20-0 win. Kylie Bordelon pitched the victory.

The Rebels celebrated Senior Night on April 6 with a 16-0 win over McGehee. Alainah Felton and Camryn Loving hit home runs.

Riverside beat Chalmette 19-15 on April 5. Emily Vicknair got the win in the circle. Alainah Felton and Chloe St. Pierre hit home runs.

The Lady Rebels beat Houma Christian and Vandebilt Catholic and lost to St. Thomas More, 10-0. In the 12-2 win over Houma Christian, Amber Palermo was the winning pitcher. Alainah Felton hit a grand slam and Emily Vicknair hit a walk-off 3-run home run.

Chloe St. Pierre and Camryn Loving hit home runs in a 15-4 win over Vandebilt.
