Time is of the essence

Time is something we can’t give back to ourselves.  We should show the importance of it by not walking as unwise men, but making the most of it (Ephesians 5: 15-16). Never taking it for granted, it should be treasured as if it was a grandfather’s watch that has been passed down from generation to generation.

Regardless, life happens and causes us to lose some of it. It can be caused by many different reasons. One of them is using it carelessly due to the ignorance of its importance.

Yet, with God, there is always a but that is interjected on our behalf as his children. So, with great enthusiasm I want to announce for the children of God it can be restored by him!

What a loving and gracious Father he is in doing so. It can be restored by him because he is outside of time. He is eternity where time is not calculated by man or a clock. The beginning of Joel 2:25 says, “And I will restore to you the years…” Which means to redeem or give back.

The word of God gives us confidence that our time lost can be given back! The most important piece of this equation is God. It cannot be restored back without him. He is the only one who carries the power to do it. The power to make it feel as if it was never lost. Time lost for others may be time just lost,  but for God’s children it can be restored. What a great hope and pleasure this is to know!  So be encouraged!
