On Tuesday, March 7, Rotary Club of LaPlace hosted guest speaker James Cooper of the LSU Research Program “All of Us”. Ultimately it will provide precision medicine.
The goal of the program is to obtain 1 million specimens for DNA research. Data is HIPPA protected with the latest technology to help keep it private and safe.
Participants are asked to:
- Take online surveys
- Complete consents
- Share electronic health records (HER)
- Give blood and urine samples.
- Have physical measurements taken.
Participation is free of charge, but requires a little bit of time.
Adults in the United States can join.
Individuals can be involved in the program as much or as little as they choose. It will last for at least 10 years. Though participation is requested for that amount of time, participants may stop at any point.
