LAPLACE — The LaPlace Lions Club will hold its annual golf tournament on March 17 at Riverlands Country Club. This year, revenue from the Charity Golf Classic will be donated to support the annual Lions’ Camp for physically and mentally challenged Louisiana children.

Trinity Jacobs, who has attended the camp near Alexandria, will be the honorary Course Marshall and help start the tournament.

Trinity Jacobs is a 19-year-old Senior at East St. John High School.  Trinity has attended Lions Camp 3 times and will attend again in June 2023 for a final year as she will age out of the program.  Her favorite things about Camp are swimming, fishing, making friends, and singing songs every day.

Trinity enjoys singing in the youth choir at Rising Star Baptist church and often leads or sings solos during the service.  She enjoys participating in beauty pageants and was honored to be the first Very Special Miss Louisiana from St. John Parish in 2017.  She loves her crowns she has earned and dressy up in fancy gowns.

Trinity has a loving and social personality so she hopes to one day find a career helping with child care or working with animals.  She plans to apply for the Bridge to Independence program at Nichols State University in 2025 when she ages out of high school.  Puzzles, coloring, watching movies, and styling hair are some of her hobbies.  Trinity is brave and with minimal encouragement is always willing to try new things.  Her favorite subject in school is math.
