As strong storms continue to move across Louisiana, residents should remain weather aware of changing conditions.
Severe thunderstorms are possible later today in Southeast Louisiana. These storms have the potential to produce severe hazards such as damaging winds, hail, and a few tornadoes across the Troop A, Troop B, Troop C, and Troop L regions. Additionally, heavy rainfall may lead to flash flooding.
Stay tuned to local weather forecasts and alerts. If you must travel, remain vigilant and exercise caution. Slow your speed, increase your following distance, wear your seat belt, and do not attempt to drive through flooded roadways.
If you experience difficulties or witness hazardous situations while on the highway, you may notify the nearest State Police Troop by dialing *LSP (*577) from your cell phone.
