On January 22, 2023, while on proactive patrol, a KPD patrol officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 300 block of West Esplanade at approximately 11:00pm. During the stop, the officer had the driver step out of the vehicle and observed him attempting to conceal a 9mm Ruger handgun. Further investigation revealed the driver, Ezekial Andrews of New Orleans to be a convicted felon and prohibited to be in possession of a firearm. Further investigation found him in possession of MDMA (Ecstasy), marijuana, paraphernalia, gloves, a bandanna and a stocking mask. A gun trace will be conducted on the Ruger to determine its origin and owner. Chief Conley, again, commends the men and women of the Kenner Police Department for working hard to keep our City safe.
