Narcotics Investigation Leads to Arrest of Hammond Couple

Chief Jimmy Travis reports the arrest of 35 year old Johnathan Calcota and 32 year old Jackel Moore, both of Hammond, after a two month investigation concludes with the seizure of a large amount of narcotics, cash and a firearm.
Through the course of the investigation Narcotics Agents identified Calcota as the large scale distributor of suspected methamphetamine and marijuana. As the investigation progressed, investigators developed enough information to obtain a search warrant for Calcota’s residence on West Lee Hughes Road, and also learned he was on supervised felony probation for a recent narcotics conviction.
On November 17, 2022, agents conducted the search warrant where Calcota and Moore were located inside the home along with their two minor children. The search warrant yielded the discovery of a large quantity of various types of narcotics as well as a loaded pistol. Agents seized approximately 16 pounds of suspected marijuana, approximately 8 ounces of suspected methamphetamine, approximately 71 grams of suspected counterfeit Xanax, and $22,279.00 in cash.
Consequently, the duo were arrested and charged with the following:
Johnathan Calcota b/m 35 years old:
(1) count Possession with the Intent to Distribute CDS I
(1) count Possession with the Intent to Distribute CDS II
(1) count Possession with the Intent to Distribute CDS IV
(1) count Possession of a firearm with in possession of a CDS
(1) count Convicted felon in possession of a firearm
Jackel Moore B/F 32 years old:
(1) count Possession with the Intent to Distribute CDS I
(1) count Possession with the Intent to Distribute CDS II
(1) count Possession with the Intent to Distribute CDS IV
(1) count Possession of a firearm with in possession of a CDS
