During the early morning hours of November 5, St. James Parish Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of suspicious activity at a Convent industrial site. Upon arrival, deputies determined that the site had been burglarized. During a search of the area Deputies located Michael Laiche,34, of Paulina, and Jonathan Stelley,38, of Gramercy. Both men were taken into custody and charged with RS14:62 – Simple Burglary. Additionally, Michael Laiche was charged with Rs14:108 – Resisting an Officer and RS14:102 – Cruelty to Animals.
