TPSO investigates attempted armed robbery of woman checking her mailbox

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred on Friday, October 21, 2022 at approximately 9:00pm in front of the victim’s residence on Old Covington Hwy in Hammond, La.
According to the victim, while she was checking her mailbox she was approached by an unknown black male who grabbed her arm and demanded money. When the victim told the suspect that she did not have any money, he then produced a pistol and placed the barrel of the pistol to her forehead. When the victim began to scream, the suspect fled on foot.
The wanted suspect is described as being a black male approximately 20-22 years of age, 5’8″ in height, thin build, medium complexion, clean shaven and wearing a red colored hoodie jacket, acid washed jeans and black colored boots.
