TPSO: Two Arrested In Connection With String of Business Burglaries

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriffs Office Chief Jimmy Travis announces the arrest of Alvin Roy Phillips and Earl Duncan, Jr after a string of Dollar General burglaries were reported during the month of October.
During the course of the investigations, detectives were able to positively identify the primary suspect as 50 year old Alvin Roy Phillips of Hammond, La. Phillips is responsible for burglarizing six Dollar General stores in Tangipahoa Parish, and has also been connected to another burglary in Livingston Parish. Phillips was captured on security footage at each business, forcing entry into the front door. Upon entering the store, Phillips would take several cases of cigarettes, and before leaving would also grab either a soft drink or alcohol.
Additionally, detectives identified 54 year old Earl Duncan, Jr of Albany, La as an accomplice in one of the burglaries in Tangipahoa Parish.
Alvin Roy Phillips was arrested on October 25, 2022 and has been booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail for six (6) counts of Simple Burglary and as a fugitive from Livingston Parish.
Earl Duncan Jr. is currently incarcerated at the Livingston Parish Detention Center and will be extradited at a later date where he will be charged with one (1) count of simple burglary for his participation.
