Sheriff Champagne reports on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, just before 10:00 pm, deputies with the St. Charles Parish Sheriffโ€™s Office responded to the report of four subjects armed with weapons breaking into a residence in the 200 block of Matherne Drive in Bayou Gauche, LA. The caller further advised that he heard four gunshots.
Upon arrival, deputies located the complainant who advised he heard several subjects pushing on the front door of the residence, and that they stole keys out of the shed in the rear of the residence. He further advised that he heard approximately four gunshots in the rear of the residence. Deputies canvassed the area but were unable to locate the subjects.
Through investigation, after speaking with the complainantโ€™s mother, it has been determined the complainant was having a mental health crisis and the complaint was false. Emergency medical services responded to provide aid to the complainant.
