Join your Friends of Louisiana Wildlife Refuges, Inc. and the Southeast Louisiana National Wildlife Refuges Complex for Boo on the Bayou, Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 10 a.m.  – 1 p.m.

This is a FREE, fun-filled, walk-a-trail Halloween event that winds through the historic Bayou Lacombe Centre grounds. Visitors will stop at several stations to learn more about how wildlife like spiders, snakes, bats, owls and alligators are not “spooky” but helpful. Some stations will have live animals. We ask that all participants stay with their group  and follow the directional signage for the event. The first 200 participants will receive a goody bag with a wildlife themed activity courtesy of the Friends of Louisiana Wildlife Refuges, Inc.!

Where: 61389 Hwy 434, Lacombe, LA 70455. Please park in designated areas only. Volunteers will be available to direct parking, please be patient.

Volunteers Needed: If you are interested or need volunteer hours please reach out to Ranger Becky at rebecca_larkins@fws.gov to see how you can assist with the Boo on the Bayou event!

Keep it Safe: We are asking that all participants follow current CDC safe practices by maintaining a safe distance between yourself and other groups, wear a cloth face mask/covering over the nose and mouth, especially when social distancing is difficult and wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Most importantly, stay home if you feel sick.
