This morning before I started to write this article, Jeanne asked, “What are you writing about?”

“I think I’ll write about the month of November.”

“Why?” she asked.

“Because I think November will be an exciting month for our family. I’m looking forward to celebrating Thanksgiving on November 24 and also celebrating your birthday on November 26.”

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays and it should be one of the greatest family celebrations. We have so much for which to be thankful.

We are living in the greatest country God created and enjoying the freedom we have because of the men and women whom we honor on November 11 which is Veterans Day. The Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home has organized a Veterans Day Parade on that day and inviting the public to participate.

With all the activity in November, we will start the month on the 1st which is “All Saints Day.” We remember our loved ones who have made this life what it is today and the sacrifices they made.  We don’t pray for the dead.  We are thankful for the contributions they have made to our lives.

After November, we move on to December.  Most of our attention and preparations should be December 25, which is the birth of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The problem with many of us is that we spend so much time and money on petty things; we don’t include honoring the birth of Jesus.
