Time’s Up. Silence is golden, or is it? There are so few days left to get education on the right track, especially in SJBP public schools. Silence is not always good! Silence is a way to neglect our responsibilities as a mentor or boss. Silence is an excuse not to fulfill what Scripture says about the older teaching the younger. Silence is a way for us to “trust God” and not have those important conversations with our children.
We need to speak up when no one else will; these are our children and grandchildren.
A friend recently said to me, “Jeannie, we have been silent for too long.”

The timing can’t get any better — the beginning of the school year, and a school board
election (mtg. Oct. 13, 2022). In other words, parents must take every advantage to
speak up for your children.
As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Our lives begin to end the day we remain silent

about things that matter” (Children in SJBP matter). Franklin D. Roosevelt, The Explainer, understood that connecting emotionally would be impossible if jargon got in the way (be specific).

We most definitely have what is called a “Battleground Election,” where change is expected to have a meaningful effect on the balance of power in SJBP public school
leadership role, and each group must act accordingly. This is not the time for apathy or complacency. This is the time for Vigorous and Positive Actions.
Leadership can look like the pinnacle of success, but to whom much is given, much
is required. When you are in education, you must never forget that children are affected by each and every decision you make. This district has gone from thinking we are in great shape, financially, academically and in extra-curricular areas to the realization that what they thought was not true at all.
