Update: LaPlace man issued summons for commercial littering

UPDATE: Javier Alexander Ramos Barrera of LaPlace was issued a misdemeanor summons for commercial littering. Through investigation and review of surveillance footage in the area, the SJSO developed Barrera as a suspect. Officers made contact with Barrera and he confessed to dumping the sofas.
To report illegal dumping please call 985-359-8737. Sheriff Tregre asks citizens to please not litter, and do their part to keep their neighborhood clean.

Do You Recognize This Truck?
The St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help to identifying the driver of this truck who illegally dumped sofas on U.S. 51 and Main Street in LaPlace on Sunday, September 3, about 7:30 p.m., and Monday, September 4, about 3:30 p.m. Officers believe the driver is from the Kenner area.
Anyone with information about these incidents is encouraged to call Sgt. Arthur Ponder at 985-359-8735.
