On August 22, 2022, at 9 PM, Kenner Police responded to the area of the 4300 block of Arizona Avenue in reference to a report of an attempted residential burglary. The victim reported hearing her rear yard gate close and upon further inspection found a screen that had been removed from her rear window.
Officers responding to the area observed a subject later identified to be Alvin Carriere, 19, Kenner, walking in the 1700 block of Joe Yenni Boulevard, with a back pack. Upon officers coming in contact with Carriere, a nine-millimeter Taurus handgun was found concealed in his waistband. Carriere was taken into custody and his backpack was later inventoried. In the backpack a ski mask, rubber gloves, a screwdriver and almost two thousand dollars was found.
Alvin Carriere was charged with violation of RS14:95 Illegal Carrying of Weapons.
The attempted burglary investigation is ongoing.
