March 25, 2022, Kenner Police responded to a complaint of a โcyber predatorโ involving a fifteen-year-old juvenile.
Parents of the victim found sexually explicit messages and pornographic images sent to their daughter on her computer and contacted the police.
After executing numerous search warrants and subpoenas detectives were able to ascertain the identity of the sender of the images and messages. Detectives found explicit messages and images sent to the victim and specific sexual requests from the suspect to the victim. Based on the context of the messages sent back and forth, the suspect was well aware of the age of the juvenile.
The suspect was identified as Brent Underwood, 28, of Vacaville California. Underwood was enlisted in the Marine Corps, stationed in Maryland and taken into custody at the Marine Corps base in Quantico, Virginia. Military investigators played a major part in assisting with the investigation.
