On July 31, 2022, at 9 PM, Kenner Police attempted to stop a vehicle for bypassing railroad crossing caution signals that were flashing red and fully lowered, at the intersection of Kenner Avenue and Filmore Street, Kenner.
The suspect vehicle accelerated and fled from officers, leading police on a brief vehicle pursuit where the vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a pole in the 1000 block of South Sibley Street. The suspect fled on foot from officers and evaded capture.
Officers approached the vehicle to ascertain if there were any additional passengers and found a four-year-old female child strapped in a car seat. The child was examined by paramedics for injuries and released into the custody of a parent.
Narcotics such as Tramadol pills and Methamphetamine, were also found in the vehicle.
