Cat Island National Wildlife Refuge (Refuge) is now part of The Southeast Louisiana National Wildlife Refuges Complex. As such, effective August 1, 2022, the Refuge will no longer charge a public use fee. However, individuals visiting the refuge for the purpose of fishing and hunting are required obtain and sign an annual Southeast Louisiana Refuges Annual User Brochure and Regulations.

This brochure is free and grants access to all refuges that are listed in it.  It is strongly recommended that individuals thoroughly read the brochure prior to signing it. By signing the brochure, it serves as an acknowledgement that you understand the rules and regulations of the specific refuge that you are visiting.

When visitors are on the refuges for the purpose of hunting or fishing, the signature portion of the brochure must always be in their possession. Taking a picture of the signed brochure with a phone is acceptable.

Until the brochures become available, we are granting a grace period. Once the brochures are available, they can be obtained at all of the traditional locations.
