GRAMERCY — Summer is coming to a close, but don’t save those fishing poles. The St. James Boat Club is bringing back the Jr. Fishing Rodeo.

It will be held Sunday, August 7, 2022 on Blind River Point Area and Boat Launch Areas.  This area is located at 39180 Hwy. 61 at the Scenic Blind River in St. James Parish, just outside of the Town of Gramercy.
All participants 15 years old and under, male or female, are eligible to compete in this fishing rodeo, but must be accompanied by an adult. The fishing starts at 9 a.m. and ends at noon. The registration fee is only $1 a child.  Each child will get a participation ribbon, a hot dog, a drink, and also a chance to win a rod and reel. Please be sure to get registered before fishing to get your copy of the rules.
Fishing is limited to the banks of the Blind River Point Area and Boat Launch Areas.  At the close of the Rodeo, awards will be given to the winners. The drawings will then be held for the rods and reels for each age group. Winners of the rods and reels must be present.
Refreshments will be sold. Give your child a remembrance of a lifetime: TAKE YOUR CHILD FISHING!
