Kenner Police: Individual arrested for illegal weapon

On July 13, 2022, at 11:45 PM, Kenner Police stopped an individual identified as Blaine Dennison, 21, Metairie, for suspicious activity in the 2300 block of Roosevelt Boulevard.
While being interviewed, Dennison shoved an officer and fled on foot carrying a back pack. Pursuing officers located and detained Dennison in the 8900 block of West Napoleon Avenue. In the back-pack officers found a handgun with an obliterated serial number, a fully loaded 32 round magazine and a second magazine.
Dennison was charged with Illegal Carrying of Weapons, Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number, Battery of an Officer and Resisting Arrest.
Dennison has a prior arrest for Simple Robbery in Orleans Parish.
