LAPLACE — The public is invited to “chip’in for Anniston” through a benefit golf tournament raising funds for the medical expenses of a local 2-year-old who will soon undergo a full intestinal transplant.

Anniston Cancienne is the 2-year-old son of Darren and Tricia and twin brother to Greyson of Paulina.  He was born with a rare congenital condition called MMIHS, which is an abdominal distention caused by largely dilated non-obstructed urinary bladder, very small colon and decrease or absent intestinal movements.

Anniston is top on the transplant list in New York City to receive a full intestinal transplant.  Once there, he and mom will have to spend anywhere from three to eight months in New York.  Family and friends are hosting this event to help ease some of the financial and living expenses.

The benefit golf tournament will take place on Friday, September 16 at Riverlands Golf & Country Club in LaPlace.

The golf tournament will be a four-man scramble with morning flight at 8 a.m. and afternoon flight at 2 p.m.  Hole sponsorships and food/drink sponsors are needed.

A live auction will be held at noon till 2 p.m., and a silent auction and raffles will be announced at the end of the tournament.
