LAPLACE — Sheriff Mike Tregre and several officers joined families and friends for fellowship, food, fun and fireworks during the annual Independence Celebration and fireworks show July 1 at St. John the Baptist Church in Edgard and St. Peter Catholic Church in Reserve.
Officers visited with citizens. Children also enjoyed glow sticks, deputy tattoos and coloring books handed out during this special event celebrating the nation’s birthday.
