St. John Public Schools announce promotions

RESERVE — St. John the Baptist Parish Public Schools announced the following promotions.

Rajean Butler has been named principal at Fifth Ward Elementary. She is a resident of St. John Parish who has served 13 years in the local school system as a literacy coach, assistant principal, principal intern, master teacher, classroom teacher and paraprofessional.

Leslie Brumfield has been named assistant principal at Garyville/Mt. Airy Magnet School. She has served 20 years in St. John Parish Public Schools as a K-8 master teacher and an elementary/middle school teacher.

Claude Hill Jr., principal at West St. John High from 2015 to 2022, has been named director of data management. His 24 years of experience in education has also included serving as a career teacher and assistant principal at East St. John High School between 1998 and 2015.

Dr. Gail Brazile and Robyn Gibson-Bazile have been promoted to curriculum facilitator.

Dr. Brazile has served 14 years in St. John Parish in the following roles: literacy coach, elementary and reading enrichment, acting assistant principal, and response to intervention. She has been an educator for 25 years.

Gibson-Bazile is a resident of St. John Parish and has been an educator for 26 years. She has served 16 years in St. John Parish as an assistant principal, master teacher and classroom teacher.
