Lockport – On June 22, 2022, shortly before 7:00 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop C was notified of a single-vehicle injury crash on Louisiana Highway 308 near Amoco Road. The crash claimed the life of 29-year-old Kristen Taylor of Walker.

The preliminary investigation revealed Taylor was traveling north on LA Hwy 308 while driving a 2010 Kia Optima. For reasons still under investigation, Taylor traveled off the roadway to the right while in a left curve and struck a utility pole.

Although Taylor was properly restrained at the time of the crash, she suffered severe injuries. She was transported to a nearby hospital where she later died.

A toxicology sample was collected from Taylor and submitted for analysis.

While the cause of this crash remains under investigation, motorists should always make good decisions while operating motor vehicles. Never drive while impaired, fatigued, or distracted.

Troop C has investigated 23 fatal crashes resulting in 25 deaths in 2022.
