LAPLACE — The St. John the Baptist Parish Department of Health & Human Services partnered with STEM NOLA, Entergy, St. John United Way, Marathon and many other volunteers to host STEM St. John on May 28 for 50 kindergarten through 12th grade students at REGALA Gym.
All kindergarten through second grade scholars had the opportunity to build and test their own flashlights, and the third through 12th graders were able to build and test their own stoplight as they gained a basic understanding about circuits and electricity.
St. John will hold its next STEM Saturday events from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at REGALA Gym on June 25 and July 30. For more information, visit stemnola.com.
