Searching for a solution to violence

Recently, most Americans were shocked with what happened in Uvalde, Texas.  A lone gunman, age 18, killed 19 children and two teachers. The majority of people grieved with the families who lost loved ones.

Some politicians are for more gun control, not realizing that people kill people, using guns. Since that tragedy, many politicians, Democrats and Republicans, are searching for a solution to gun violence. I think the solution can be found in the Bible in 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

Many politicians want to take advantage of the spotlight. One of them who really stood out Sunday was President Joe Biden, as he paraded in front of the TV and then excused himself because he had to go to Mass. This is a religious man who the Bible, in Matthew, Chapter 22, calls a hypocrite. The thing that makes him a hypocrite is that he travels to Texas to grieve with the families who lost their loved ones, and rightfully so, but never does anything to stop the killing of the unborn in the mother’s womb.

He, and the majority of his Party, is pro-choice, meaning that the killing of the unborn is not murder, but a woman’s choice.  However, the Bible says in Psalm 139: 13-14, “For You have formed my inward parts, You have covered me in my mother’s womb.  I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.”
