On Thursday as part of the Click-It or Ticket campaign, Louisiana State Police collaborated with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, KennerPolice, Harahan Police Department and the Louisiana Passenger Safety Task Force to conduct a successful seatbelt checkpoint on the eastbank of Jefferson Parish. Over the span of 3 hours, 1004 vehicles were screened and officers issued 42 seatbelt violation citations and 1 child restraint violation citation. Additionally, the Louisiana Passenger Safety Task Force was able to assist by providing education and proper child restraint installation for 4 children.
