Hammond, LA – On May 6, 2022, at approximately 10:00 am, the Hammond Police Department responded to the AT&T Store, located at 2807 West Thomas Street, in reference to an armed robbery.
Upon arrival, HPD officers learned that an unknown black male—wearing a dark hoodie jacket, dark pants, face masks and gloves—entered the business armed with a firearm and told an employee and a customer to move to the rear of the business. The suspect then demanded the employee to open a secured safe with many Apple and Samsung products and to fill a bag with the devices. The suspect left the business using a side door and proceeded to run towards the parking lot of Lowe’s. It is believed the suspect got into a vehicle that was parked at Lowe’s and drove onto Highway 190 West. The suspect’s vehicle appears to be a black Chevrolet Avalanche.
